Requirements for Admission

  • Age

    Minimum 16 years; Maximum: Who’s counting?

  • Education

    Minimum 10th grade completion is required by S.C. State Law. Students must provide a copy of high school permanent record, high school diploma, or general education development certificate.

  • Interview

    A personal interview is required prior to enrollment. Parents, guardian, and/or spouse are welcome to participate.

  • Forms

    A number of forms are required of the student as part of their file and will be requested of the student as needed. These forms are for State Board information, emergency treatment, etc.

  • Desire

    Applicant should be prepared to study and work toward achieving their determined goals.

All students who meet the requirements to enter school according to the laws of the state of South Carolina will be admitted without regard to race, color, creed, age, religion, nationality or sex.

Registration and Calendar

There are no classes for all students enrolled on Labor Day, Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day and the school is closed the week of July 4th and the week of Christmas. These legal holidays are observed when they fall on normal school days.

Cosmetology Course:

Offered Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm

Nail Technician Course:

Offered Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.

A student may enroll any day of the school year and class starting dates are available through the Administrator.

Description of Courses

The Cosmetology Course is a 1500 hour course of study providing instruction, demonstration and training in hair styles, hair shaping, hair coloring, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, hair and scalp care, manicuring, esthetics, and make-up, as well as safety and sanitary procedures.

The Esthetics Course is a 450 hour course of study providing instruction, demonstration, and training in skin care, facial treatments, and make-up design, as well as safety and sanitary procedures. This course is offered when instructors are available.

The Manicure Course is a 300 hour course of study providing instruction, demonstration and training in manicuring, pedicuring, and artificial nails, as well as safety and sanitary procedures. This course is offered when instructors are available.

The Student Teacher Course is an additional 750 hour course of study providing instruction, demonstration, and training in lesson planning, lectures, school management, and record-keeping, as well as safety and sanitary procedures. This course is offered to all licensed cosmetologist, estheticians, & nail technicians who have been licensed by the state of South Carolina for less than 2 years. This course is offered when instructors are available.

The Methods Course is a 45 hour course of study providing instruction, demonstration, and training in lesson planning, lectures, school management, and record-keeping as well as safety & sanitation procedures. This course is offered to all licensed cosmetologists, estheticians, and nail technicians who are licensed by the state of South Carolina. This course is offered when instructors are available.

All courses are taught with supporting biology, chemistry, design theory, and business practice.
